It’s been 8 years since coming to Birmingham. When I moved here, I was blown away by the gorgeous hills and greenery this area has. Coming from Michigan, where everything is flat and then Jackson, TN, where there’s a lot of flat, I loved the hills and trees that line them. This city and it’s metro have grown so much since then. We have a new stadium that has hosted Garth Brooks, the 2022 World Games, Birmingham Legion FC soccer and now, The UAB Blazers football and the UFL Champions, the Birmingham Stallions. We’ve got Michelin Star chefs and restaurants and recently, America’s oldest baseball park, the Legendary Rickwood Field, hosted televised Major League Baseball to commemorate the Birmingham Black Barons and Fairfield’s own Willie Mays.
There are parks, places to hear all kinds of live music. The beach is only 4+ hours away (minus the traffic) So much to do and see and so much history. When you have people ask you, what do you do in Birmingham? Make sure you don’t leave anything out, especially Vulcan statue – Dana
