Ella Langley’s chart-dominating hit “Choosin’ Texas” gets a vivid on-screen treatment in a newly released official video, blending a heartfelt story with a lineup of notable faces.

Directed by Langley alongside Wales Toney and Caylee Robillard, the video leans heavily into Texas culture, featuring appearances from rodeo athletes, musicians, and dancers, including members of Texas A&M’s Aggie Wranglers.

Filmed at Fort Worth’s Stagecoach Ballroom, the video follows Langley and actor Luke Grimes as a couple returning to his hometown of Abilene. As they roll into town, she quietly asks, “Do you ever wish you didn’t leave Texas?”—a question that sets the tone for what unfolds next.

Inside a lively honky-tonk, filled with dancin and live music, tension builds when Grimes’ character notices a woman from his past, played by Ava Phillippe. Flashbacks reveal their deep-rooted history, while Kaitlin Butts appears as a local who offers Langley a subtle warning: “Texas has a way of keeping what’s hers.” Miranda Lambert steps in as a traveling musician preparing to leave for Tennessee. When Langley realizes her relationship is slipping away, Lambert offers her a ride out of town. The video closes with Langley choosing to leave, as her partner is left behind—an ending that mirrors the song’s themes of heartbreak and self-preservation.

The platinum-certified “Choosin’ Texas” has surpassed 525 million global streams and recently set a record for the longest run atop the Billboard Hot 100 by a female artist with a song that also led the Hot Country Songs chart for four weeks. Co-written by Langley and Lambert with Ben West, Luke Dick, and Joybeth Taylor, the track also features Lambert on background vocals. The song appears on Langley’s upcoming album Dandelion, arriving April 10.

Following the album’s release, Langley will launch The Dandelion Tour on May 7 in Toledo, Ohio, with stops in cities like St. Louis, Austin, and Oklahoma City before wrapping in Fort Worth in August. She’ll also join Morgan Wallen on select dates and take the stage at major festivals, including her debut at Stagecoach.
