When your first dance gets stormed by a tornado warning, what do you do? You grab your partner and head to the basement, of course! That’s how newlyweds Alex and Sarah Schilke rolled with the punches during their June wedding at the Grand Geneva Resort and Spa Hotel in Wisconsin. The tornado may have thrown a wrench in their reception plans, but it didn’t stop their dance.

As the tornado sirens blared, the wedding party made a dash to the hotel’s basement shelter. In the less-than-ideal ambiance of a basement, complete with guests huddled around, Alex and Sarah decided to go ahead with their first dance. Talk about making the best of a stormy situation!

The impromptu shelter dance was a unique chapter in their love story that they—and their guests—will remember forever. It might not have been the ballroom they dreamed of, but it was a testament to their love and resilience. Cheers to the Schilkes for dancing through life’s storms!

Just when you think weddings can’t get any more epic, a tornado shows up and proves you wrong. Here’s a story to remind us that love always finds a way, even in the most unexpected places.

Tornadoes can’t thwart love! Congrats to Alex and Sarah Schilke for having their first dance in a basement shelter. ❤️🌪️ #WeddingGoals
