Tess was born the fifth out of six children on a Navy base in Brunswick, Maine. “When you come from such a big family, you learn how to make yourself heard! “ Little did she know just how many people would eventually hear her each day on the radio.
While growing up on a horse farm outside of Memphis, she has fond memories of falling in love with country music while caring for the horses and cleaning stalls.
She received a degree in Communication Studies from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville (watch out Bama, you've got a Vols fan here!) where she worked at the college radio station as part of a journalism class. Tess quickly realized that she had found her true calling in life.
While still in school, Tess co-hosted a Classic Rock show on WUTK for two years. She eventually landed an internship with the promotions department at Country station WCYQ in Knoxville. After just a few short months, they put her on-air to host the night show.
After two years, Tess moved back to Memphis to do voice-over work and host weekends on WHBQ. Always up for a new and exciting adventure, Tess is thrilled to be a part of the WZZK family and make Birmingham her new home.
Watch out though, even when she's not on-air Tess won't shut up. You can always find her at a concert or live show, or outdoors doing something that will probably get her injured. She loves to mountain bike, snowboard, wake board, ride horses, play co-ed softball, you name it! Tess also loves to go dancing, watch college sports and you can never tear her away from a good book.
Catch her live Monday through Friday on WZZK from 10-3 for some good laughs and all of Birmingham's Best Country!
