Mark Deese began his career in radio at the age of 15, working weekends at a couple of small stations here in Central Alabama.
His love of music sparked his interest in radio, and he continued his announcing duties throughout high school and college. He is a 1999 graduate of Birmingham-Southern College, having received his Bachelor's degree in English.
Before joining WZZK in 2001, Mark was an announcer and commercial writer for 98.7 KISS-FM in Birmingham and also worked as Topical Writer/Producer for Alabama’s ABC 33/40.
Mark is also a newly-licensed insurance producer for the state and spends his days building his book of customers.
Outside of work, Mark is a vocalist who has participated in theatre productions, charity events, and talent contests. In recent years, he has been named Most Promising Male Vocalist (new country) with Alabama Country and Gospel Music Association, represented Alabama at the North American Country Music Associations, International contest, and placed 1st Runner-Up at the Talent America showcase in Stamford, Connecticut.
