Valuable Photos Will Be Stolen…And The Culprits Will Get Away With It!
BIRMINGHAM, AL - It seemed like just another terrific cocktail party…great food from the Chefs of SoHo, beer from Avondale Brewing Company, and wine from the cellar of a local connoisseur… in a room filled with amazing photography and crates of collectible wine. But something was different. Gracious southern ladies were stealing photos from their friends, and gentlemen were pilfering bottles of wine from total strangers, only to have those photos and bottles of wine stolen from them in turn!
The occasion is Gateway’s 5th Annual Off the Wall fundraising event to be held Thursday, April 11th from 6 – 8 p.m. at Rosewood Hall in SoHo. And the thievery is all for a good cause and part of the game to see what prize each ticket holder will take Off the Wall and home that evening. Guests will draw numbers to place next to the photograph or bottle of “liquid art” they want most, hoping that someone with a lower number will not out-bid them. But never fear…if they are out-bid, they simply place that number on another piece of art, hoping that this time, they’ll have the lowest number and win the prize!
Proceeds from the event will support the programs of Gateway, Birmingham’s oldest social service agency, transforming the lives of families in crisis and delivering hope to the hurting.
